APF27_Dev: a complete development board for embedded Linux systems

Description

The APF27_Dev board is a development platform: it is ideal for experimenting and testing simple embedded Linux applications.

It enables access to most of the APF27 board's functionalities while at the same time offering many additional features such as a touch screen controller, microphone input, audio, digital TV output,(1) CAN bus(1)...

All the drivers necessary to use the board features are available in our Linux BSP.


Available in "light" or "full" version. Characteristics are given below:

Power supply

  • 5 to 16V DC Input
  • On board regulator 3.3V / 1.5A max high efficiency DC/DC converter
  • On board regulator 5V / 2.5A max high efficiency DC/DC converter
  • On board regulator 1.8V / 0.25A max high efficiency DC/DC converter

Specific features

  • One high speed and one full speed USB 2.0 port
  • Touchscreen controller
  • One microSD
  • Audio in/Stereo audio out controller (TSC2101 codec)
  • 2 user leds: one connected to the i.MX27 microprocessor and the other to the FPGA
  • 2 user switches: one connected to the i.MX27 microprocessor and the other to the FPGA
  • CAN(1) controller
  • ADC (7 channels, 10 bits) type MAX1027(1)
  • DAC (2 channels, 10 bits) type MAX5821(1)
  • RTC with backup battery(1)
  • HDMI/DVI controller.(1) For DVI usage, an additional HDMI/DVI cable is required.
  • Reset switch

Connectors

  • Jack 2.5mm for power supply
  • Ethernet (RJ45) with integrated isolation transformer and state leds
  • 2 x USB host (type A)
  • HDMI(1) for digital TV
  • 3.5mm stereo jack for the audio outputs and a 3.5mm mono jack for the microphone
  • DB9 header (RS232)
  • Two hirose receptacles for APF27
  • Jumper for selecting the boot mode
  • MicroSD card slot (port SD2)
  • LCD (2.54mm pins - compatible with the LQ043_adapt kit)
  • Touchscreen (2.54mm pins)
  • RS232 (UART3, 2.54mm pins)

  • J19, J20: FPGA(1) signals
  • J22: i.MX27(1) GPIOS

2.54mm pitch connectors for the future wireless board

  • RS232 (UART2, UART5, UART6)
  • SD-Card bus (port SD1)
  • CSI bus (Cmos Sensor interface)
